How is the API billed?+
Pay as you go from your API balance in US dollars — per second of video and per image, no subscription. See Pricing & billing.
Do I need a Studio plan?+
No. Studio plans are for the Qulture apps. The API has its own balance; every tier and duration is available and files have no watermark.
Do the ChatGPT and Claude connectors use my API balance?+
No. Connectors (MCP) use your Studio plan credits, like the Qulture apps. Only keys you create in the Console use the API balance.
Can I convert my API balance into Studio credits (or back)?+
No. They are separate and can't be converted or transferred.
Does my API balance expire? Can I get a top-up refunded?+
Your API balance never expires. Top-ups are non-refundable, except where required by law.
Am I charged if a generation fails?+
Yes. You're charged when a generation is submitted and finishes processing, whatever its outcome. Requests rejected before processing (invalid input, insufficient balance, limits) are never charged.
What are the limits?+
Per API key: 60 requests a minute and 200 generations an hour (connector keys: 20 an hour). Per account: 20 generations running at once. See Rate limits.
What happens when my balance runs out?+
New generations return 402 insufficient_balance and nothing is made; jobs already running finish normally. Turn on auto-recharge in the Console to avoid this.
How long does a video take?+
Usually 30–90 seconds for a 5-second Draft; longer for Pro or 10-second videos, or when there's a queue.
Can I use the videos commercially?+
Yes, videos you make are yours to use, within the Qulture terms. Videos paid from your API balance have no watermark.
Can I call the API from a browser or mobile app?+
Only for testing. A key in client code can be copied by anyone. Call Qulture from your server and pass results to your app.
Why was my request blocked?+
Safety checks refuse sexual content, minors, real-person impersonation, hate, violence and brand/IP misuse. Requests refused by our check before processing return 422 studio_blocked with block_category and are never charged. A job stopped later by the video model's own checks ends as blocked and is charged.
Do I need webhooks?+
No — polling works fine. Webhooks save requests when you make many videos.
Can I use Qulture from ChatGPT or Claude?+
Yes. Connect the Qulture MCP connector; it creates a key for you that you can revoke in the Console. Connector use is paid with your Studio plan credits.
Is there an SDK?+
Not yet — the API is plain HTTPS + JSON, and the OpenAPI spec works with any OpenAPI code generator.
